On May 22, 2025, the French Department organized the annual Francophonie Festival, a vibrant celebration of the French language and Francophone culture. The event was graced by distinguished guests, including His Excellency George Steiner, the Ambassador of Switzerland, who attended the event as the chief guest. Other notable attendees were Mr. Ali Bhatti, Director of the Alliance française d'Islamabad, and Ms. Domitille Robert, the French Education Officer at the French Embassy Islamabad.

The Francophonie Festival is observed worldwide by French-speaking nations and communities wherever French is spoken, taught, or appreciated. This special day highlights the significance of the French language, promotes Francophone culture, and encourages French learners globally to engage with the language through speech, song, and conversation.

In keeping with tradition, the French Department at NML commemorated the occasion with great enthusiasm. Students showcased their linguistic and artistic talents by performing French songs, comic skits and poetry recitations. Their performances demonstrated not only their growing proficiency in French but also their passion for the language.

The presence of ambassadors from Francophone countries adds prestige to the event, as they appreciate the students' efforts. The ceremony concluded on a delightful note, reinforcing the importance of French as a global language and fostering cultural exchange.
