DR. NISBAT ALI
Welcome to the Department of Management Sciences at the National University of Modern Languages (NUML). Since its establishment in 2002, the department has remained committed to academic excellence, professional development, and preparing graduates to contribute meaningfully to business and society. Our vision, “Developing socially responsible business leaders and researchers,” guides our academic priorities and future direction. In pursuit of this vision, our mission emphasises business leadership through creative thinking, research and learning, entrepreneurship, and social responsibility. We aim to equip our students with the knowledge, practical skills, and ethical judgement required to lead effectively in a changing business environment. Our programs provide a strong foundation in finance, marketing, human resource management, and supply chain management, while developing the analytical and strategic capabilities essential for managerial responsibility. We seek to enrich this foundation through experiential learning, digital competence, and opportunities to apply classroom knowledge to contemporary organisational challenges. As Head of Department, my priorities include strengthening the quality of teaching and research, expanding industry engagement, and supporting students’ transition from university to professional life. Through collaborative projects, internships, entrepreneurial initiatives, and engagement with business professionals, we aim to connect academic learning with workplace expectations and emerging career opportunities. Our faculty members are central to these efforts. Their contributions to teaching, scholarly inquiry, and professional collaboration help create an environment where students can question, explore, and develop informed perspectives. We encourage research that advances knowledge and offers practical responses to challenges facing organisations, communities, and the wider economy. We aspire to prepare graduates who demonstrate professional competence, intellectual curiosity, and a strong sense of responsibility toward society. Ethical leadership, inclusive decision-making, and sustainable business practices will remain integral to this commitment. I warmly welcome prospective students, researchers, alumni, and partners from academia and industry to engage with the department as we work together to advance meaningful learning, responsible leadership, and research with lasting impact.
