Go Green NUML
The CSR Society of NUML Mirpur Campus, in collaboration with Al Khidmat Foundation, the Forest Department, and Anjuman-e-Falah-o-Behbood, successfully organized the Green Pakistan Program at the campus. This meaningful initiative aimed to promote environmental responsibility and highlight the vital role of tree plantation in ensuring a sustainable future.
The event began with the recitation of the Holy Quran, creating a spiritual atmosphere. It was followed by a brief but impactful address from the Regional Director, NUML Mirpur Campus, who formally inaugurated the plantation drive. In his speech, he emphasized the importance of trees in preserving ecological balance, preventing natural disasters such as soil erosion, and improving the quality of life for future generations.
Students from NUML Mirpur Campus, especially female students, and volunteers from Al Khidmat Foundation participated actively in the plantation activity. Their enthusiastic involvement aligned with the vision of the Forest Department’s campaign “Aik Shajar, Aik Beti”, promoting the idea that planting a tree symbolizes love and responsibility for our daughters and the environment.
The Forest Department and Al Khidmat Foundation contributed a variety of plants to NUML Mirpur Campus, including soil-binder species specifically chosen to prevent erosion and safeguard the campus’s natural terrain.
The event concluded with a collective prayer, asking for Allah Almighty’s help in making the earth greener and safer through the power of plantation and shared environmental stewardship. The "Go Green NUML" initiative not only enhanced the beauty of the campus but also instilled a strong message of sustainability and civic responsibility among the students.
