Daryaft is an Urdu research and critical inquiry journal, published by the Department of Urdu, National University of Modern Languages. The first issue was published in January 2002 and so far (June 2020) Twenty Three issues have been printed. It was published annually in January and from June 2016 it has been printing bi-annually in January and June. The unpublished research-based articles in the context of Urdu language and literature are included in Daryaft. Articles are sent to the experts for judgment and opinion before publication. In 2005 journal was selected in the approved list of HEC journals. From 2011, it is registered in MLA directory of periodicals and Index of Urdu Journals, International Islamic University, Islamabad, some other international database agencies like Ulrich, EBSCO, Web of Science and Scopus are in progress.
