Experience:

Teaching Psychology as a visiting faculty member in

  • Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad from February 2017 to July 2017 in the Faculty of Natural of Sciences.
  • Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad from April 2018 to August 2018 in the Faculty of Natural of Sciences.

Research Experience:

Additionally, worked on a research project of National Institute of Psychology (QAU) in collaboration with an NGO (OXFAM) from May 1st 2016 till December 1st 2016 on “Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) and Life Skills” as a research assistant and my M.Phill thesis have been funded by OXFAM.

The project that spanned over seven months involved using a mixed method approach of data collection from a total of seven districts of Pakistan. These districts included Rawalpindi/Islamabad, Multan, Abbottabad, Haripur, Quetta, Umerkot, and Neelam Valley. I was employeed as an M Phil research assistant to meet the specific demands of this project listed below:

 

  • Developing a comprehensive theoretical understanding of the area of research and identifying corresponding variables
  • Adapting measures and establishing their psychometric properties
  • Assisting development of SRH Knowledge and Practice Questionnaire (adolescent version)
  • Administering self-report questionnaire to over 1200 participants nationwide (age range 13-25 years)
  • Conducting interviews of approximately 70 participants (age range: 10-12)
  • Conducting, as well as, facilitating approximately 5 focus-group-discussions with young people, school/college teachers and parents regarding SRH
  • Data entry and preliminary data analysis in SPSS presented at the 6th International Conference “Psychology of Gender in Perspective: Issues and Challenges” held on 1st and 2nd December 2016 in NIP> 
  • Research paper published in Pakistan Journal of Psychological Research (HEC recognized) Winter 2016 issue vol. 31, No. 2. Additionally, three research papers are under publication.
