Trip to Harnoi lake and Shimla Hills

The NUML Mathematics Society (NMS) organized a recreational trip to Harnoi lake and shimla hills on 26th of October, 2024. The trip aimed to provide a refreshing outdoor experience and promote camaraderie among mathematics enthusiasts.

The event featured a thought-provoking discussion on the central themes of the novel, including monstrosity, humanity, morality, and the dangers of unchecked ambition. The students of BS English led panels analyzing Shelley's complex ideas and their relevance in today's world.Rich dialogues exchanged among several panels of students examined how the novel resonates with contemporary social and ethical issues, sparking vibrant discussions on the nature versus nurture debate and the consequences of scientific advancement. Through these conversations, the event highlighted the novel’s enduring relevance and its profound exploration of the human condition.

The 'Awareness on Breast Cancer' seminar, held on 24th October 2024 at Confucius Seminar Hall, Ibn-e-Khaldun Block, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, was a successful and impactful event aimed at raising awareness about breast cancer, with a focus on early detection, prevention, and the psychological effects of the disease. Dr. Amna, Medical Officer at NUML, delivered an insightful presentation on the medical aspects of breast cancer, discussing risk factors, early detection methods, and the significance of regular screenings for early diagnosis. Miss Rubab Hassan, Clinical Psychologist and Lecturer at Foundation University, provided valuable insights into the psychological challenges faced by breast cancer patients, highlighting the importance of emotional support and resilience-building for both patients and their families. The seminar successfully achieved its goal of raising awareness, promoting early diagnosis, and fostering open discussions about the emotional and psychological impact of breast cancer, paving the way for future health-related initiatives.
