Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) for December 2020 has been cancelled
Following the outbreak of COVID-19 and the preventive measures being taken to combat the spread of the pandemic, the Embassy of Japan and the National University of Modern Languages (NUML), after mutual consultation with the Japan Foundation which is offering the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT), have decided not to conduct the JLPT in December this year in order to safeguard the health of examinees and the supervisors.
It is hereby informed that those applicants who had already applied and deposited fee for the December test will be refunded the examination fee in the due course of time.
For further information, please contact:
Syed Majid Ali, NUML
E-Mail: smali@numl.edu.pk
We would like to encourage those who could not attend the test this time to keep learning diligently and to apply for the JLPT in 2021.
In the meantime, NHK World's "Learn Japanese" website is a very good tool for learning Japanese for beginners. Among them, there is an "Easy Japanese" program for beginners with an Urdu version where audio and text can be downloaded. Programs such as "Easy Japanese for work" and "Weekly News in Simple Japanese" are available for intermediate users. Please keep on learning!
