Aims and Objectives of Conference

This international conference attempts to cater to the urgent need for a critical re-evaluation of the ways in which AI intersects with the Arts and Humanities in this posthumanist era. Accordingly, the objectives of the conference revolve around exploring, debating, and proposing literary, linguistic and cultural interventions to rehumanize AI-mediated inputs and outputs. The conference seeks to advocate a case for reconfiguring algorithmic linguistic blending and recalibrating smart systems through a synergistic partnership between human and artificial intelligence. Positioned as an international platform for researchers to explore human-machine cohabitation, the conference is ultimately an effort at (re)asserting the integral role of Arts and Humanities in spearheading the reconstruction of knowledge in the age of AI.

Conference Theme / Concept Note

Few technologies hold as much transformative power today as Artificial Intelligence. It is rapidly reshaping and pushing the boundaries of human capability. Powered by AI, mechanized prosthetics, and smart technology, posthumanism offers a vision of humans blending with machines. This shift challenges the role of arts and humanities, yet it simultaneously offers new prospects for Human-AI collaboration. The cultural clout of literature and linguistics is pivotal to keeping these disciplines relevant, both in utilizing AI systems and humanizing its tools. They have the potential to actively resist and redefine the linguistic homogenization of AI algorithms by offering alternative and creative frameworks. If ceding culturally produced texts and artistic literary forms to automated machine outputs poses risks, it is equally naive to ignore that AI has already destabilized human centrality. In response to our uncritical overreliance on autonomous systems, this conference proposes an interspecies partnership with AI, a symbiotic framework that may infuse technological computation with the critical and cultural capital of arts and humanities. This platform provides an opportunity to explore the possibilities of interaction between humans and AI-related technology, and their potential for cohabitation as actants.
