Guidelines for Authors

Abstract: An abstract of not more than 250 words, Times New Roman (Font 11). Indentation 1 cm. Do not include the word ‘Abstract’ Keywords: (give three keywords)
Format of Paper The length of a Research Paper should be between 1,500 and 4000 words, including title, abstract, main text and tables excluding references. Language style should be academic without colloquialisms, slang, regionalisms etc. Consistency of spelling whether American or British is desirable. The research paper would normally include theoretical and conceptual elements. File format The file format for submission of your paper is Microsoft Word.
Headers, footers and page numbers Do not include headers, footers or page numbers in your document.
Footnotes Do not use footnotes in your paper.
Endnotes If required can be used.

Abstract An abstract of not more than 250 words, Times New Roman (Font 11) , indented 1 cm on each margin. Do not include the word ‘Abstract’. There should be one blank line after the Abstract. Keywords Please provide 3 key words to facilitate indexing and refereeing.
Body text Times New Roman 12 point, single-spaced with 6 pt paragraph spacing, Justified. Heading level 2 Heading level 2 is Times New Roman 12 point bold with 9 pt paragraph spacing after. All headings are in sentence case. (Level I heading is the title of the paper.) Heading level 3 Heading level 3 is Times New Roman 11 point bold with 9 pt paragraph spacing after. All headings are in sentence case. Heading level 4 Heading level 4 is Times New Roman 11 point bold italic with 9 pt attached paragraph spacing after, and with no space following. Try to avoid using level 4 headings.
Tables and figures Figures and Tables should be centered. Use Times New Roman 11 for captions and titles for figures and tables, leaving one blank line before and after. Tables are labeled above and figures are labeled below. A colon is inserted after the number of the Table or Figure. Table 1: Captions and titles for tables Figure 1: Captions and titles for figures
References References are listed in Times New Roman 12 point, single spacing. Second and subsequent lines within each reference are indented 0.5cm. Do not leave a blank line between references. Adjust 9 pt spacing between two references.
Use American Psychological Association (APA) referencing both in text and for listing references at the end of the paper. References in text should be author and date: … Bates (2000) contended that … … Berge, Collins, and Dougherty (2000) found that … … there is strong evidence of this in the literature (e.g., Reeves & Laffey, 1999).
References should be listed in alphabetical order in the reference list. Referencing from variety of sources should be in accordance with the APA Style. Acknowledgements Acknowledgements can be made before the references. Use Level 2 Heading and Body text style. Leave 1 blank line after the acknowledgements. Copyright statement The following copyright statement should be included at the end of your paper. Copyright © 2009 Name of author: The author assigns to NUML Research Magazine and National University of Modern Languages a non-exclusive license to use this document for publication, personal use and in courses of instruction. The author also grants a non-exclusive license to NUML Research Magazine to use this document in worldwide publication, distribution and reprint in all languages, forms and media. Any other usage is prohibited without the express permission of the author. The author has to submit a copyright agreement ( Download Form) stating that the author has the legal rights to present the paper for publication and the paper contains no material that is defamatory, libelous, and unlawful or infringes the copyright or other legal rights of others.
