News and Events

• A joint meeting of Arabic Departments of the following universities was held in October 2010:
  • International Islamic University, Islamabad
  • National University of Modern Languages, Islamabad
  • Allama Iqbal Open University, Islamabad
• The meeting was organized at IIU. It was decided that all the three universities will make joint efforts for dissemination of Arabic Language and will renew their struggle in order to restore its previous status which it enjoyed some years back
• In January 2011, a prominent scholar from Germany addressed the faculty members on the subject of ‘Education’. A very fruitful discussion took place after his speech.
• A Seerat Conference was organized during the month of March 2011, in which prominent scholars from Islamabad participated. Among them were Professor Iftikhar Ahmad Bhutta, former Director General (Curriculum), Ministry of Education and Professor Muhammad Asim, Arabic Department, International Islamic University, Islamabad.
